The Center for Perinatal Care (CPC) is the perinatology unit of Women's Center. It functions as a tertiary care high-risk referral center, servicing a wide area of Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
Pregnancies complicated by maternal medical problems, fetal problems and pregnancy-induced complications require a dedicated team of professionals to monitor, assess and cope with these special problems. Teams comprising of obstetric perinatologist, ultrasonologists, fetal care specialists and neonatologists are available round the clock. These core teams are supported by highly trained cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, pulmonologists, nephrologists and urologists. Complete support facilities for prenatal assessment, monitoring of high-risk pregnancies, detection of fetal anomalies, fetal procedures, intrapartum monitoring, neonatal intensive care, and newborn surgical procedures are available.
The unit has a track record of having dealt with numerous challenging clinical situations over the last two decades, with very good maternal and fetal outcome. Procedures such as fetal reduction for multiple gestation, amniocentesis and blood sampling are performed by experienced professionals.
